According to police, 4 policemen were also injured. Media persons, who were following the convoy bringing back gangster Vikas Dubey, were stopped by police in Sachendi area of Kanpur before the encounter around 6.30 am in which the criminal was killed.
The encounter has sparked a fresh debate on whether it was an accident or pre planned murder. “It seemed like Vikas Dubey would be encountered. It is a planned encounter. Vikas Dubey could have unveiled the secrets of big politicians in MP and UP,” P C Sharma, MP Vidhan Sabha member, said, demanding a CBI enquiry into the matter.
The extremely coincidental encounter of #VikasDubey proves that even the police & administration don’t have any faith in the judiciary.— Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri (@vivekagnihotri) July 10, 2020
Because the judiciary is so slow that we have devised a system of ‘personal justice’. Dacoits, Naxals, gangsters and even police believe in it.
OUTRAGEOUS STORY of Vikas Dubey encounter. The vehicle is seen lying “conveniently” on its side, all doors closed. Note the road condition. No reason to overturn “so softly”! Open fields all around! Even a fool with a paunch wud not consider running away in open. pic.twitter.com/8NGT2zx6lT— Dr. N. C. Asthana, IPS (Retd) (1986-2019) (@NcAsthana) July 10, 2020
So while being driven, Vikas Dubey with two rods in his legs jumped from the Safari to the other car, made it overturn, then broke free him his handcuffs, grabbed a revolver from cops, ignored their ‘What is this behaviour, Vikas?’ statements, ran & tried to shoot them all dead. https://t.co/30mz8aHybW— Rohini Singh (@rohini_sgh) July 10, 2020
Police say he has been a prime accused in some 60 criminal cases in his lifetime, including murders. He was accused of killing a BJP MLA in a police station 20 years ago but was acquitted for lack of evidence.
